Vulcan 2
April 2010
We have bought a Black
Magic Missile Works UFC-2 Flight Computer with
GPS and transmitter. This will enable us to track the flight and have live data
from Vulcan 2.
The UFC Flight Computer provides the most advanced flight computer
in its class, supporting flights to 30km. Its optional long range
two-way telemetry, GPS and 3-Axis Inertial Sensor give it the
performance needed for Level II and III flights. Its on-board ADC
and Digital I/O ports allow the user to configure the system in ways
not possible with other flight computers. The user created Flight
Operations Scripts allows the configuration and control of these
functions for what ever purpose required.

The SARA team has redesigned the
Vulcan Rocket. SARA plan to fly to 20 km later this year. The Vulcan
2 has a new injector, tank and avionics. Vulcan 2 will stand 5meter
tall and weigh in at 34kg all up weight. The Vulcan 2 will also fly
a video camera.
The motor test was done. It ran
better than expected.
